It should be noted that the victim list had already been put out, along with their ages and grades when these interviews were done. Yet they were still under the impression that the victims were in Kindergarten. I am not implying that anyone in these interviews were knowingly lying. Just that by that point, the narrative that they were in Kindergarten was so widespread by that point that it appeared to be a known fact at the time while being completely wrong.
Which begs the question.... how did that narrative begin in the first place? The classrooms were clearly marked by grade in the hallway. They conducted headcounts at the firehouse that day, meaning they knew that the only students unaccounted for were first graders. So who said Kindergarten and why wasn't it immediately corrected by officials?
