Former gymnasts from the Western Australian Institute of Sport are optimistic that the departure of its chief executive after more than two decades will clear the way for a major overhaul of the elite sport's centre. Steve Lawrence’s decision to step down comes 18 months after a sport integrity Australia report substantiated allegations of abuse at the institute.
