Govt: We want lower taxes but priority is reducing inflation

The economic secretary to the Treasury says he wants people to "hold onto more of what they earn", but that the priority "right now" is "bearing down on inflation which will help the economy and reduce the cost of borrowing". Andrew Griffith's comments come after an Insitute for Fiscal Studies report claims the government is on track to oversee the biggest tax-raising parliament since records began. Report by Brooksl.
