The heartwarming story was shared by Ben on his Instagram and has received an overwhelming amount of support online. Ben, 23, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Erwing’s sarcoma when he was just 17 years old. And the diagnosis saw his promising football career cut short as he was forced to retire. He was playing for Southampton’s U23 squad and also managed to earn himself two caps for the England Youth team. And his girlfriend Daisy Morrison has been with him every step of the way since. The pair are now engaged after Ben popped the question in hospital where he is being treated for his cancer. The former footballer shared the news with his Instagram followers in a message that read: “Daisy I’ve had this planned since last year,“This isn’t exactly what I had in mind for when I wanted to tell you how I felt about you & how I might ask you!“From the moment I met you I knew you were different in all the right ways, you changed me for the better, I met you boy and I stand here now a man.
