S Jaishankar In Washington DC, Likely To Meet Antony Blinken Amid Ongoing India-Canada Tensions

S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, on September 27, landed in Washington, DC. Jaishankar arrived in Washington, DC from New York. During his visit, he will meet with his US counterpart Antony Blinken, as well as White House officials, representatives of the US administration, industry leaders, and think tanks. In addition, Jaishankar will meet with US Trade Representative & Ambassador Katherine Tai in a closed press meeting in Washington, DC. On September 26, Jaishankar spoke at the United Nations General Assembly's 78th session in New York. During his speech, the EAM stated - "political convenience" should not be considered when selecting solutions to terrorism and extremism - a clear allusion to Canada amid a diplomatic impasse between the two countries. He further stated that cherry-picking violates territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs.
