Amid the ongoing Cauvery issue in Karnataka, farmer bodies, Kannada organisations, and opposition parties have called for a bandh on Tuesday in Bengaluru. The bandh is called to protest against an order issued by the Cauvery Water Management Authority or CWMA. The CWMA order directed the state to release 5,000 cusecs of water to neighbouring Tamil Nadu for 15 days, effective from September 13.
