00:03 - For our 45th season of "Survivor,"

00:05 happy to announce that for the first time,

00:07 we have 90-minute episodes.

00:09 So that's gonna mean a lot more "Survivor,"

00:11 a lot more of everything you love.

00:14 Welcome to "Survivor 45."

00:16 [cheers and applause]

00:18 We have a lot of very smart players this season,

00:21 and they're smart storytellers.

00:23 And now we'll have time to really get inside their story,

00:26 where they're from, what they believe,

00:28 how they approach the game.

00:29 - If something scares me, I can go and do it.

00:32 I thrive in the unknown.

00:34 - I think I'm perceived as an intense,

00:36 aggressive, outspoken person,

00:38 and that can be really off-putting to somebody.

00:41 - The focus that I have

00:42 is to give off Golden Retriever energy.

00:44 I'm ready to talk to somebody.

00:45 Bling!

00:46 [laughs]

00:47 What's happening?

00:48 - We also have the first returning player

00:50 in the modern era, Bruce,

00:53 from last season, who was injured minutes in.

00:57 So we called him and said, "Do you wanna come back?"

00:59 And he said, "I'm already on the plane."

01:00 - Oh my God!

01:01 - I lost it.

01:03 I just, I was crying.

01:05 - Trying to play this game alone

01:07 in the new era is really tough.

01:10 The game is more complex,

01:12 which is why in 45, you're gonna see a lot of pairs.

01:15 The players are finding new ways

01:17 to twist the game to their advantage.

01:19 - So I need to play aggressive right off the get-go,

01:22 get some advantage, find an idol, do whatever I can.

01:25 - I say, "Yeah, I'm gonna be the sole survivor.

01:27 "Why not me?"

01:29 - I am at the launch pad.

01:30 The rocket is fueling up.

01:32 It's ready to fire off.

01:33 - It's really a personal journey

01:35 that is cleverly disguised inside a game of social politics.

01:40 When it's over, what every single player says is,

01:42 "Wow, I'm a different person."

01:44 - You know, I'm coming here with an empty cup,

01:47 and I'm hoping to leave with a full one.

01:49 - People wanna play.

01:50 They come hard.

01:52 It's really fun.

01:52 I think fans are gonna enjoy it.

01:54 - I'm waiting for Jeff to say, "Survivors ready?

01:57 "Go," and I'm going, you know what I mean?
