Proper pronouns: the importance of respectful language

A few short, simple words can hold a great deal of power. Here's how referring to someone's proper pronouns can make all the difference.

00:37 If you really wanted to, you could just say, "Hey, what pronouns should I use for you?"

00:41 Rather than just assuming the person's pronouns.

00:44 But the best way I guess to do it is to actually not even refer to their gender, and also just by name.

00:50 So that's the easiest way to get about it, without having to make any assumptions.
