More than 130 government and volunteer divers joined forces to carry out underwater clean-ups at islands in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Saturday (Sept 23).

00:13 The one-day event dubbed "Bonyo Ultra Ocean Clean-up" was organised by the Royal Malaysian
00:18 Navy Submarine Force with members of the Sabah Diving Squad.
00:23 Also involved in the clean-ups were divers from the Army, Marine Police, Malaysia Maritime
00:28 Enforcement Agency, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Department, National Security
00:34 Council, the Fisheries Department and Unisty Malaysia Sabah.
00:39 There were 138 divers and volunteers assigned to do the clean-up at several sites, including
00:44 the Sabah Parks Jetty, Mamutek, Manukan, Suluk and Sapi Islands.
00:50 Sabah Diving Squad Club President Sim Fui hoped that more underwater clean-up programmes
00:54 should be organised in the future so to encourage more recreation divers to become marine torchbearers.
01:02 This year the club members participated in the second clean-up organised by the Navy
01:06 and several also collaborated with other organisations such as the Marine Research Foundation.
