Storm chaser Tony Laubach was in Adair, Iowa, on the morning of Sept. 23, where a round of severe weather looms ahead to kick off the start of the weekend.

00:02 Iowa positioning for what could be a
00:04 very active day across multiple states,
00:06 stretching from Minnesota all the
00:08 way down into Oklahoma,
00:09 expecting storms to fire later this afternoon.
00:11 Those storms posing a threat for
00:13 damaging winds, hail and the potential
00:15 for a couple of tornadoes as well.
00:17 We've already seen severe weather
00:18 already this morning across
00:19 portions of Nebraska and Iowa.
00:21 This was the site on I-29 north of
00:23 Omaha on the Iowa side of the river
00:26 where you saw multiple cars pulled
00:28 over under overpasses folks do not do that.
00:30 A lot of them taking shelter from
00:32 the wind and the rain that was blowing
00:34 through we saw wind gusts over 60
00:36 mph come through here and occasional
00:38 hail with that line of storms.
00:40 We expect another round of severe
00:42 weather to develop as a cold front
00:44 sweeps into the region portions of
00:45 southern Iowa into parts of northwest.
00:47 Missouri will be our target for the day,
00:50 but again,
00:50 we're looking at severe weather
00:52 over a wide range of areas to
00:53 certainly keep weather aware
00:55 throughout the day today across
00:56 the Great Plains reporting for
00:58 Accuweather in Adair, IA.
