00:00 Though A Annie of American Idol collabs with Figris for Romance and Desire, the artist
00:04 shared what inspired the song.
00:06 Way Annie is a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist who is known mostly for her soulful performance
00:11 on The Voice.
00:12 Since then, Annie has shared the stage with legendary artists and even became a top 5
00:17 finalist on season 21 of American Idol.
00:19 In her recent collaboration with Figris, she created a classic R&B song called Romance
00:24 and Desire to bring the unique fragrance to life from the company's new mood collection.
00:29 Annie shared what inspired her creative process.
00:31 How did American Idol make you grow as an artist?
00:34 First of all, people don't know how difficult it is.
00:36 Maybe only 3% of the process is actually shown.
00:40 Having that in your arsenal to be like, "Okay, if I can get through this, then I can get
00:44 through anything" is important.
00:45 Plus, it's helped change my perspective on a lot of different people in the arts.
00:49 Because you get nervous.
00:50 You might feel like people might come at your neck, or you don't know how people are going
00:54 to react.
00:55 This was a warm and welcoming place with the contestants, and it still is.
00:58 I've met my best friends there.
01:00 What inspired the song Romance and Desire?
01:02 It might sound corny, but the smell of the Faberys inspired the song.
01:06 It has a rosy champagne kind of scent, and it puts you in the mood for date night, relaxing,
01:10 or just anything like that.
01:12 It just makes you feel really pretty.
01:14 So much so that whenever I spray it, people are like, "You spray perfume?"
01:17 When I thought about that, I was like, "Okay, think about a little bit of a flip on classic
01:22 R&B."
01:23 Writing it happened fast, and it was easy to write.
01:25 It is really good.
01:26 You're like, "Oh, okay.
01:28 I get the vibe now.
01:29 It's smooth."
01:30 What does it mean to you personally to be a part of this collaboration?
01:33 I mean, Faberys is such a huge deal.
01:36 So being recognized as not just a great artist, but as somebody who has the ability to write
01:40 for Faberys is a crazy thing to see.
01:43 I'm like, "What?
01:44 That's so wild."
01:45 Not just that, but being a woman of color, being a black woman, and being able to do
01:50 this.
01:51 It just shows that you can do this.
01:52 You can go ahead and strut your stuff, and Faberys will like it.
01:55 It shows that you can get sponsorships like that and be able to help represent household
01:59 names because you have the ability to be a household name.
02:02 It's really important for all the little girls and little boys out there that look
02:05 like me.
02:06 I want to show them.
02:07 You can do it.
02:08 In her recent collaboration with Figris, she created a classic R&B song called "Romance
02:13 and Desire" to bring the unique fragrance to life from the company's new Mood Collection.
02:18 Annie shared what inspired her creative process.
