00:05 sight but that's all changed.

00:07 With them releasing a statement saying they have come to an amicable and mutually agreed

00:12 upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceeding.

00:16 So why the quick turnaround and who came out on top?

00:26 everyone health and happiness following his divorce settlement that Christine agreed

00:30 to over the weekend.

00:32 It feels so bad.

00:33 We're talking about somebody I love on the other side.

00:35 I just can't.

00:36 It was just over two weeks ago that the 68-year-old's legal team led by powerhouse attorney Laura

00:41 Wasser won a series of legal battles in a two-day evidentiary hearing in Santa Barbara.

00:46 What do you hope the outcome with all this is going to be?

00:48 I hope it gets resolved.

00:51 Christine, 49, was asking for $248,000 a month in child support.

00:56 The court sided with Kevin giving her much less, $63,000.

00:59 The court also upheld the prenuptial agreement Christine signed before their 2004 wedding

01:04 limiting her to $1.5 million.

01:07 NBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos breaks it down.

01:09 There are two reasons why settlement is in the best interest of the parties in a celebrity

01:13 divorce case.

01:14 Number one, neither side wants public testimony on their private lives.

01:20 And number two, attorney's fees can get astronomical.

01:24 Case in point, over the weekend it was reported that Christine was ordered to pay over $300,000

01:28 in Kevin's attorney's fees.

01:30 So what was left to decide that would fill their three-page settlement agreement?

01:34 One piece of leverage that Baumgardner had was to say, "I won't challenge this prenuptial

01:39 agreement."

01:40 Even though the prenup was already determined to be valid, she can say, "Well, I could

01:45 still try to challenge it in court.

01:47 And I'm agreeing not to do that as part of this settlement.

01:50 But that agreement is going to cost some money, too."
