Michael Thomas, Derrick Brown get into heated exchange in tunnel after Saints-Panthers game

Something happened away from the field Monday when the Saints visited the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.

A video posted after the Saints beat the Panthers, 20-17, on “Monday Night Football” shows Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas getting into some sort of argument with Panthers defensive lineman Derrick Brown.

It starts with Thomas walking down the tunnel and turning around to yell back at Brown.

Making the turn at the end of the ramp, which appears to be near the Saints locker room, Thomas, 30, and Brown, 25, come face-to-face, at which point Brown needs to be held back from a physical confrontation with Thomas.

The video ends with Brown being escorted away from Thomas, presumably to the Panthers locker room.

Perhaps Brown was just mad that his team fell to 0-2 while the Saints improved to 2-0.

Thomas was a big reason why, hauling in seven of nine targets for 55 yards.

He now has 12 catches this season for 116 yards.

Brown was busy during the game as well, recording seven tackles and helping the Panthers’ pass rush get home for four sacks on Saints quarterback Derek Carr.

On Tuesday afternoon, Thomas posted on X: “They tried to set me up,” and “They were playing good snoop dog after I was just trying to do my dance,” each containing three laughing emojis.

It’s unclear if the incident was what Thomas was ultimately referring to.
