02:32 gather in the central hall for a special function dedicated
02:36 to celebrating the rich legacy of India's parliament and
02:40 pledging to transform the nation into a developed
02:42 entity by 2047.
02:45 The event will include a photo session.
02:48 Following this central hall function on Tuesday, the
02:50 session will be relocated to the new parliament building.
02:53 A small puja ceremony may also take place, coinciding with

03:15 The Prime Minister, who recently turned 73, had a busy
03:18 schedule, while Mr. Kharge and other Congress leaders were

03:23 Committee in Hyderabad.
03:25 During an all-party meeting held on Sunday evening,
03:28 several regional parties, including Biju Janata Dal,
03:31 led by Naveen Patnaik, and Bharat Rashtra Samiti, led by
03:34 K. Chandrasekhar Rao, advocated for the introduction of the
03:37 women's reservation bill.
03:39 The government had earlier announced the agenda for the
03:41 special session, ending speculation about the
03:43 possibility of a name change for the country or a bill on
03:46 one nation, one election.
03:48 The government defended its decision, stating that there is
03:51 no tradition of disclosing the agenda of a special session, a
03:55 move contested by the opposition.
03:57 The special session of the parliament recalls a similar
04:00 event held when India completed 50 years of
04:03 independence, marked by a midnight session convened on
04:06 August 15, 1997.
