Labour vows to end use of hotels for asylum seekers

Hotels, barges and former military sites would no longer be used to house asylum seekers under a Labour government, the party said as it promised new staff to cut the current claims backlog. Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said that Labour’s plans would save the taxpayer over two billion pounds. She added, “Let’s get back to a properly controlled and managed asylum system.” Report by Covellm.
