Unpaid work creating a barrier to students completing university

As the government looks to overhaul Australia's university sector. A major barrier has been identified in getting students to complete their degrees - that is, compulsory unpaid work placements. For some - particularly those from diverse backgrounds - this has to be undertaken instead of their paid employment meaning no pay, and a lot of stress.
