00:00 And for once there were no traffic as I came to Farmer Copley's. We've just parked up in
00:04 the car park and see Copley's kitchen. You can still catch some sunflowers on the sunflower
00:09 farm here as well. And it's just come to the end of the pick your own strawberry season.
00:15 But of course, coming up is the UK's largest pumpkin festival right here. That's why I'm
00:22 normally stuck in traffic because I'm trying to get to it with lots of kids. And right
00:26 here, one of the most Instagrammable places in the UK apparently. And as I met Rob and
00:32 Heather Copley, Farmer Copley's owners at the weekend, they did ensure that all pumpkins
00:39 are grown here. So that's 250,000 pumpkins are grown on this site. So let's take a look
00:46 around as they've been gearing up for their pumpkin festival.
00:56 Eyup, so how are you getting ready for the pumpkin festival? So we're 10 days away now.
01:11 We start on the 23rd of September. We've got pumpkins one o'clock till five o'clock and
01:16 then that rolls into a Taylor Swift tribute act in the evening. So it's all mad on the
01:21 farm. We're shutting down from a car show we've just had, moving all the toilets, all
01:24 the stages up to the pumpkin patch and getting the staff, everybody's getting excited.
01:30 It's one of the UK's largest pumpkin festivals as well. Yeah, it's probably the first pumpkin
01:36 festival in the UK and the longest running and most probably the largest. There's a few
01:41 on my heels at the moment. So I'm not going to make that claim to have clever time. It's
01:45 certainly one of the biggest. And how many pumpkins are there here? So I would say up
01:50 to 300,000. We plant about 200,000 to 120,000 seeds and we're working about one and a half
01:57 pumpkins per plant. And what's your favourite kind of pumpkin? Because there's about 40
02:00 varieties. I just like all pumpkins. Nobody can ever tie me down to a favourite. Every
02:03 year it changes. If I'm eating them, I prefer the blue pumpkins. If you're carving them,
02:08 the orange pumpkins are always best. And if you're just saving them for table decorations
02:12 or you can even use them as soup bowls, the little yellow and little white ones. They're
02:16 really good. And what's your favourite kind of food at this time of year when it comes
02:20 to pumpkin recipes? So we do. Steph Moon once created a pumpkin dal and that's about five
02:26 years ago and that's stayed on the menu for the last five years in pumpkin festival. That's
02:30 always a winner on pumpkin day. So we only have the crack-banner pumpkins and I just
02:34 really like crack-banner.
