00:04 of The Young and the Restless and one of its prominent characters, Nate Hastings.

00:09 So if you have been following The Young and the Restless, you probably know that Nate

00:14 Hastings has become a significant player in the series. But did you know he has quite a history

00:19 in generosity that some newer fans might not be aware of? Let's dive into it. Nate is the son of

00:26 Nathan Hastings and Olivia Winters, born back in 1995. After a series of child actors, the character

00:33 was aged to an adult and played by Walter Von Delroy in 2011 for a brief stint. Nate returned

00:40 in July of 2018, portrayed by Brooks Darnell. However, as of April 10, 2019, the role was taken

00:47 over by son Dominic, who continues to play him to this day. Nate's life was filled with drama right

00:53 from the moment he was conceived. His mother, Olivia, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer but

00:59 refused to abort her baby to save her own life. In 1992, Nate Jr. was delivered early but healthy.

01:07 However, things took a complicated turn when Nathan cheated on Olivia with a woman who could

01:13 have exposed them all to HIV. Olivia threw Nathan out of the house and despite all testing negative,

01:20 Nate was kidnapped by his desperate father. Nathan eventually returned Nate to Olivia but was killed

01:25 in a hit and run shortly thereafter. As Nate grew up, he formed a close bond with his new father,

01:31 Malcolm Winters. However, Olivia broke things off with Malcolm and turned to his brother,

01:37 Neil Winters, which upset Nate. Olivia even changed her will, naming Neil as Nate's guardian

01:43 if anything happened to her. After Malcolm was presumed dead, Nate grew closer to Neil. But

01:50 Olivia tried to keep her son away from him due to Neil's struggles with alcohol. Nate went off to

01:57 boarding school and eventually mentioned in 2008 that he was in medical school. Then in 2011,

02:04 Nate resurfaced in Genoa City as Ronan Malloy's specialist treating his liver ailment. Reconnected

02:10 with his family including Neil, Malcolm and his cousins, Lily Winters and Devon Hamilton. But that

02:17 was the extent of it. In July 2018, Nate made a surprise appearance in Genoa City to secretly

02:23 treat Petunia Mann. He lived in Neil's penthouse where he encountered some tension with Hilary

02:29 Curtis. Nate had almost proposed to his love, Caroline. When she tragically died, he tried to

02:35 save Hilary and her baby after a car accident. But sadly, the baby died and Hilary's injuries

02:40 proved fatal. Nate became involved in various medical storylines, taking over Nikki Newman's

02:46 care for her MS, helping with Lola Rosalee's life-saving liver transplant and working on

02:51 Victor's potentially fatal blood disease. His social life improved as he began a romance with

02:57 Abby Newman, although it later fizzled out. Nate's romantic journey took a complex turn when he

03:02 teamed up with Elena Dawson to open a clinic in town. While business partners, Elena was romantically

03:08 linked to Devon, which complicated things. However, Nate's feelings were still for Elena and a complicated

03:15 love triangle developed. Things became even more complicated when Nate asked Amanda Sinclair out

03:20 on a date. However, his true feelings remained with Elena. Their closeness grew and after Elena confessed

03:27 her problems with Devon, they slept together. This revelation strained their relationships with Devon

03:33 and led to a heated confrontation, leaving Nate with an injured hand and questioning his future

03:39 as a surgeon. Despite his challenges, Nate continued to excel professionally. He diagnosed Ray Rosales

03:45 with thallium poisoning, treated Pitt Newman after her car accident, and saved her life with the kidney

03:51 transplant. Nate's journey continued as he was appointed chief of surgery at the hospital. Nate

03:57 decided to leave Genoacity after quitting his job, intending to take Ashlyn Locke's job offer.

04:03 However, he was appalled to discover that Locke had been picking his cancer diagnosis. Nate helped

04:09 expose the mogul's lies and accepted Devon's offer to be CEO at the newly formed Chancellor Winters

04:16 Company. Nate's personal life remained turbulent with a rollercoaster relationship with Elena. He

04:21 later confessed his duplicity to key characters, resulting in his firing from Chancellor Winters.

04:27 However, things took an unexpected turn when he was offered the CEO position at Newman Media.

04:33 Nate's journey didn't end there. He accepted the CEO position at Newman Media and became

04:38 romantically involved with Victoria Newman, which created its own set of challenges and secrets.
