00:00 And let me just say unequivocally that no form of extremism or violence like that is
00:04 acceptable.
00:05 It's not right and I won't tolerate it in the UK.

00:40 The forum for those discussions, of course I will touch on that with Prime Minister Modi,
00:45 but the teams are working very hard.
00:47 But as I said, there's hard work to go but we will keep working through it.
00:50 But I think there is an enormous opportunity for both India and the UK to strengthen our
00:55 economic cooperation which will bring real benefits to our citizens in both countries.
01:00 Can you tell us something about your equation with Prime Minister Modi?
01:05 Yes, and I have enormous respect for Modi Ji and he's been personally very warm and
01:10 kind to me and we're working very hard, as I said, on our shared ambition of concluding
01:15 an ambitious and comprehensive trade deal between India and the UK because both of us
01:20 think that would be a good thing and both of us need to make sure it works for our two
01:23 countries.
01:24 And at forums like this I'm very keen to support Prime Minister Modi in making sure that this
01:29 G20 is an enormous success for India, which I know it will be.
01:33 And this has been a great year for India more generally.
01:35 Sir, another question. A lot of Indian community lives in the country there and we have seen
01:41 some ugly scenes of Khalistani protests, separatist protests. How do you secure Indian interests
01:46 here because this is a big huge issue?
01:50 Yeah, it's a really important question and let me just say unequivocally that no form
01:57 of extremism or violence like that is acceptable in the UK and that's why we are working very
02:03 closely with the Indian government to particularly tackle PKE, pro-Khalistani extremism. I don't
02:09 think it's right. Our security minister recently was just in India talking to his counterparts.
02:15 We have working groups together to share intelligence and information so that we can root out this
02:19 kind of violent extremism. It's not right and I won't tolerate it in the UK.
