00:37 The Edward Scissorhands star has been the face of the fragrance since 2015, but there

00:42 were questions surrounding his future with the company in the midst of his highly publicized

00:47 affirmation case against Amber Heard.

00:50 After Johnny won the trial last summer, he reportedly made $20 million to re-up his company

00:55 with Dior earlier this year, making it the biggest men's fragrance deal ever, according

01:01 to Variety.

01:03 Since the trial wrapped up more than a year ago, Netflix has made a documentary about

01:06 the case titled Depp v. Heard.

01:09 Johnny's lawyer in the trial, Camille Vasquez, exclusively gave Access Hollywood her take

01:14 on the docuseries and the social media impact of last year's high-profile trial.

01:20 We had no idea that there was this media social storm brewing outside.

01:25 Can you please tell the jury why you're here today?

01:29 Ms. Heard accused me of abuse.

01:31 My ex-husband is suing me.

01:34 Brutal, cruel.

01:36 This is humiliating for any human being to go through.

01:39 And all false.

01:41 Camille, Depp v. Heard, what was it like for you to go back and relive that trial via the

01:46 docuseries?

01:47 It was fascinating.

01:48 I mean, just to see the way that Emma put together that docuseries, I found it really

01:54 interesting.

01:55 She utilized the court testimony in a way that told a really compelling, truthful account

02:02 of what took place inside those four walls in Virginia.

02:06 And you know, there was what was taking place within those four walls, and then there was

02:10 the world outside.

02:11 There was the social media firestorm.

02:13 What was it like for you really being at the center of that?

02:17 You know, it's interesting, and that's a great question, because while we were there inside

02:22 doing our jobs, we didn't really understand the impact this case was having on social

02:27 media all over the world.

02:30 You know, towards the end, we started getting messages or people sending us things, but

02:35 really for the most part, we had no idea that there was this media social storm brewing

02:41 outside.

02:42 I don't think I've seen anybody do a better job.

02:48 So you were unaware that there were essentially millions of people talking about you every

02:51 day online.

02:53 We really were unaware, and I'm grateful that we weren't aware at the time, because we did

02:59 have a job to do, and we were so incredibly busy during that time that we didn't have

03:04 the time to focus on what was happening outside of our war rooms and that courtroom.

03:10 It was an act of profound cruelty, not just to Mr. Depp, but to true survivors of domestic

03:16 abuse.

03:18 For Ms. Hurd to hold herself out as a public figure representing domestic abuse, it was

03:24 false, it was defamatory, and it caused irreparable harm.

03:29 What was it like for you watching yourself in court?

03:33 What I see is actually somebody that has always believed in her client and a true advocate.

03:41 I see my expressions to the evidence as it's coming forward, and I very much knew the case

03:48 very, very well.

03:49 I knew the evidence, and I was advocating at all times for my client.

03:55 Was there one key moment when you knew that you'd won the jury over?

04:00 I don't think that we could ever be 100% sure, but there were some key moments during the

04:05 trial.

04:06 Johnny Depp's testimony, I think, was a key moment when he was finally, after six years,

04:10 able to tell his side of the story.

04:13 I felt the responsibility of clearing the record as the only way that I could get to

04:25 the point where I could speak has really taken this full six years, and it's been six years

04:35 of trying times.

04:39 For six years, what we had were, what we say, unfounded allegations made by his ex-wife,

04:46 Amber Hurd, against him, and no response, public or otherwise, from Johnny Depp until

04:51 he filed this lawsuit.

04:53 And he was able to testify there six years later.

04:57 I also think that her cross-examination, which I had the honor of doing on behalf of Mr.

05:02 Depp, was a pivotal moment.

05:06 Being able to confront her with her own words was so important to Mr. Depp and to our overall

05:12 strategy.
