Teddy Bears For Children In a Crisis

National Teddy Bear Day is Saturday, Sept. 9 and for just $6 you can buy a new teddy bear for a child in crisis.  Each year, Assistance League® of Phoenix donates over 3,000 teddy bears to partners like the Phoenix Fire Department Crisis Team, hospitals, homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters.  The HUGS program provides teddy bears for children who are experiencing trauma or a crisis. When a bear is given to a child, it is not intended to be a toy but rather a tool to address the emotional health of that child through offering comfort and support.
