Serbia dedicates win over Lithuania in FIBA World Cup quarters to injured teammate

Bogdan Bogdanivic said the Serbian national basketball team dedicates its 87-68 quartefinal win over Lithuania at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, to teammate Borisa Simanic, who underwent two surgeries, including one that removed one of his kidneys. The injury was caused by an inadvertent elbow by South Sudan’s Nuni Omot in the first round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Bogdanivic said Simanic's injury inspired the team to win the game that sends them to the semifinals.
