We've had this project in plan for six to twelve months.
00:04
We've been building up the amount of services we've been providing the Orange
00:08
community but from our base in Cowra. So with the aim that we would put a base
00:13
here so we've been looking for the the right premises to do that and
00:17
finding this house is just fabulous. It's a beautiful property.
00:22
So we've now kitted it out, set it up with all the resources we need
00:26
and we can continue to grow our services from here. We plan to be here for a long time.
00:32
And I guess how pleasing is it to see it open finally?
00:35
So good to see it open. So good to see it full of clients
00:38
today and they have a lovely time out in the back.
00:42
There's food galore as only the country can do
00:46
and so cake the whole bit. So it's a nice day today.
00:50
And how many clients can it sort of facilitate at any one point anyway?
00:55
I think we can have about sort of 15 clients here at any one time but we'll
00:59
be open several days during the week. So you know not everybody will come every
01:04
day so there's quite a lot of clients that can
01:08
be accommodated in the social club and then a lot more of course at
01:11
weekend support still to remain at home. Sure and what
01:14
were the initial thoughts from some of the clients who've seen the new digs
01:17
anyway? Oh they're delighted. Yeah they've walked
01:20
through and you can see the smiles on their faces.
01:22
I think that they picture that it's going to be fun to come and
01:26
activities that can be here. So yeah a lot of joy in here today and a
01:30
lot of really nice comments. It's been nice to
01:32
to talk to the clients today and hear their feedback as well on the staff
01:36
members that you know they're seeing here that who are
01:39
the people who come in and you know come and provide services to
01:42
them at home. So many really nice comments about how
01:46
much they enjoy those interactions with the clients in their own homes.
01:50
And just what wonderful people the care workers are as well.
01:55
And obviously there is an aging population. I guess is there scope or
01:58
any plans to maybe open another facility either in
02:01
Orange or the Central West anytime soon? Well for Batmospheric Home we just
02:06
need the office as a base. We don't need more bricks and mortar in
02:12
order to greatly expand the services. So we absolutely have a plan to be
02:17
looking after our increasing number of people within
02:20
the community. But we can do once we've got an office
02:24
it's then sort of unlimited how many people we can support.
02:28
Because the staff don't need to be here. It's only the scheduling and
02:32
you know the management team. Everybody else is you know is mobile
02:36
throughout the region.
