My Kitchen Rules contestants Christian Grant and Nick Kato speak to ACM national reporter Anna Houlahan at a family and friends screening of the first episode of the 2023 season.

00:00 I'm here at the Union Hotel in Windsor with Christian and Yif and we're about to watch their first episode with NPR.

00:08 Everything building up to it has been an amazing journey so far.

00:12 We've loved every minute of it and we can't wait to see it on the screen.

00:16 We learn so much while we're away filming it and we just can't wait to share our journey with the rest of them.

00:25 Is there any part that you're hoping they don't put in?

00:28 Everyone's going to have to tune in and find out.

00:32 It is real people around a table talking about real food and real flavour.

00:39 And have real opinions.

00:41 The difference between My Kitchen Rules and other cooking shows is no one's sitting around a table talking about food.

00:52 Discussing their approaches to food, the reason why they are excited to cook, the reason why they're in a competition.

01:00 It's real people, real opinions.

01:03 And is there always going to be that moment when you sit, 10, 12 people around a table who are all passionate about food

01:15 who have differing opinions on how they prepare food, what they cook.

01:20 Of course there's not going to be.

01:22 So is there going to be that discourse at the table which will get unpacked at all times? Of course there is.

01:27 How exciting is it to watch your own episode of The Pondering Family?

01:31 We cannot wait to watch our episode on Channel 7.

01:36 We have been waiting for this for a while. It's going to be crazy.

01:42 It's going to be a little bit weird watching it back and reliving everything that we went through in that.

01:50 But we are proud of our journey and proud of everything that we did.
