Tourism on Tioman island is worth BILLIONS of ringgit every year. Many flock to Tioman's pristine shores for its coral reefs, which have been under threat from rising sea temperatures and proposed development projects — such as the recently cancelled Tioman airport.

NGO Reef Check has been working with local communities for over 10 years to maintain and manage the coral reefs, successfully replanting corals in many areas. But could climate change and future developments for mass tourism still be a threat?
