00:06 Dr. Nicole's love for Beagles was born a long time ago.

00:15 Today, her parents bring a long-time companion to the clinic, the Beagle Pepsi.

00:22 Pepsi is the dog I adopted just before I started my veterinary studies.

00:26 Do you want to pee?

00:28 Beagles are very loyal and loving.

00:31 And through veterinary access, Pepsi has been great on my side.

00:34 He'd be my best buddy.

00:36 They always say you have to have some sort of favorite animal or favorite pet.

00:40 But baby, Pepsi is my favorite.

00:43 You good?

00:45 Today, at 20, Pepsi has been adopted by the whole family.

00:49 But he didn't come to the clinic just to say hello.

00:53 Don't wag your tail.

00:55 He doesn't eat much, it seems. Good dog.

01:06 Pepsi is very weak.

01:09 He has diarrhea, he vomits, he can't get up.

01:15 He can't get out on his own.

01:23 He just cuddles.

01:25 Pepsi started out as the family dog.

01:27 He was always there with me.

01:36 Pepsi has given me a multiple scare story of his life.

01:40 He came in to the previous clinic that I had,

01:43 and he had a mass on his chest.

01:45 Don't move. Stay. Just stay.

01:48 And his owners didn't want him anymore.

01:51 So I took him out. We did multiple scares for him.

01:54 And Pepsi, it ended up being a part of his tooth pick

01:57 in the half of his chest.

02:00 And about a year after his third operation,

02:03 the other half of the tooth pick came out.

02:07 Did he eat all of his candy last night?

02:10 No.

02:12 Temperature's normal, my baby.

02:14 Yeah, that's good.

02:16 Pepsi has always been a very loving troublemaker.

02:20 But it's really thanks to him that I got through my school.

02:24 So his liver is a little bit healthy,

02:26 but not that much.

02:28 Bloodwork shows that his liver isn't functioning quite correctly.

02:32 And then he has a little bit of white blood cells

02:35 that are elevated, which would mean like an infection.

02:38 Do you want anything to have like a pepci?

02:41 Pepsi has an infection.

02:44 But to know where, Dr. Nicole wants to do some radio.

02:53 I want to make sure he doesn't have any mass in his chest
