Analysts suggest Xi may be reluctant to attend the summit in India and give India and its growing economy attention and influence on the global stage as host. A meeting between Xi and Biden on the sidelines in India had been anticipated as a chance for them to discuss stabilizing increasingly tense US-China relations.
