05:34 how would you assess the business with the incomings that you've had

05:38 and the balance of the squad right now?

05:40 Have you been happy with how it's gone?

05:46 Yeah, look, it's like that...

05:49 We pretty much have to reinvent the team, the midfield is now already

05:58 and will be completely new.

06:00 Over the last few years we had to do the same with our front line,

06:05 the most stable area is obviously the last line, but now not,

06:11 because of the injuries and the suspensions.

06:14 We had to do that in a season where we didn't qualify for the Champions League,

06:20 or last year we qualified for the Champions League, but this year we didn't.

06:24 Which has a massive impact, that's how it is,

06:27 and I know people expect it to be different, but it's how it is.

06:31 So I really think we did good business, the players we brought in are really good,

06:38 they'll help the team, they'll even get better,

06:42 and I think especially for Maka and Domi, everybody could see that already,

06:47 it's a massive step, massive change in the way he used to play and the way we play,

06:54 so that obviously needs a bit of time to get there, but it's no problem.

07:00 So I really like the team, not to say I love the team,

07:07 when I look at it before we start a game, you look at the line-up,

07:11 you look at the option on the bench, we were a bit young in the last weeks,

07:15 but that is great, I think everybody loves it when Dogue is coming on,

07:27 So, yes, we got younger, but we had to, we are less experienced,

07:36 But we are full of desire, and I love this team.

07:52 He does, however, give an opportunity if selected and if he's fit to play for Trent,

07:56 to captain the side, presumably, so a proud moment for him,

07:59 because I don't think he's ever captained Liverpool at Anfield before.

08:07 Yeah, for me it's a bit difficult to think myself in that situation,

08:14 I was captain for a long time, not ever club like Liverpool,

08:18 but it was more work than honour, as far as I remember it.

08:37 so he's used to the different weight on the left arm, I think.

08:55 Yeah, super. I think a lot of people would have thought,

09:05 I'm very happy that I didn't do it, and I'm even more happy how Trent got through this game,

09:12 because it is difficult. I think we all agree that everybody in the stadium,

09:18 besides the Liverpool fans, wanted him to go off as well,

09:23 like in the next situation, and I'm pretty sure it would have happened

09:27 if Trent would have given anybody the chance to do so.

09:31 So, yeah, that was a big step in his development, absolutely, to keep his calm,

09:37 to even step up in the game, because he was really in it,

09:43 he was super important in the defensive part before the first goal.

09:47 It's not a pass everybody will remember forever,

09:51 but it was a sensational pass through the lines,

09:54 Djoko, Mo, Bam, in behind, these kind of things,

09:56 or Mo, Djoko, so it was like this.

09:59 Yeah, as I said, we learned already a lot this season.

10:04 We will learn more, but we have to use as well already what we've learned so far.

10:11 Just to go back to the midfield question,

10:16 could you evaluate how the dynamic in the skill set has changed

10:20 with the midfield you have now compared to the midfield you had last time?

10:24 We will see that, it's not a natural skill set, the thing is obvious,

10:28 but we had to replace and to change the most successful midfield

10:34 in the young history of this club.

10:37 So Fabinho, Henderson, Milner, Gini Wijnaldum a few years ago,

10:45 all had big, big parts in that team,

10:50 like Naby, Oxley, they all played big parts in that midfield.

10:59 ..in our best periods, I remember that you asked me the question

11:06 if we are enough of a goal threat from this midfield.

11:10 When we scored all the goals from the front line,

11:14 I think we have much more goal threat in midfield now,

11:16 that's definitely the case, but the work rate these guys put in,

11:19 the stability they gave us, that was second to none,

11:24 and that's what we have to create as well, definitely.

11:26 We will see how we do that, because we can play different systems,

11:34 we have to think about that during the season, definitely,

11:38 but we are still early in the season and we have to find...

11:41 Into the season, you do that not with 12 changes in four days,

11:45 you do that with keeping things like they are and going from there,

11:49 and that's what we do in the moment, but we will keep our eyes open,

11:52 we will see what is best for the specific line-up and then we will adapt.

11:57 But I think it's clear, we have other players we brought in,

12:02 they have real quality, young and in a super way really excited

12:10 about the opportunity of being here, so that's a cool mix.

12:14 Alexander Sheffery said yesterday that he doesn't feel the Seven Leagues

12:22 are a threat to the big clubs.

12:54 I don't know 100 per cent yet, to be honest.

13:41 That's something I think UEFA or whoever should have an eye on,

13:47 to solve that, because we all have to protect the game,

13:52 and we want to, it's not a league or whatever, it's the game.

13:55 And obviously I love all my players who play now in Saudi Arabia,

14:01 and usually I would watch them but I didn't see anything yet.

14:07 but it's not like that it distracts me now from my watching habits.

14:10 But we have to make sure that these European leagues,

14:15 and here's to UEFA boss, that they stay as strong as they are,

14:19 and for that we always can help from these kind of things,

14:24 like changing rules slightly, adapting rules, making some laws,

14:29 whatever rules which make sense.

14:32 We are all a bit surprised, still probably in that sense,

14:35 by the activity from Saudi Arabia, but it happened a lot,

14:40 and a lot of players went there, and that improves the league,

14:42 definitely in the moment it's like, "OK, I didn't watch it yet,

14:47 "but that doesn't mean I will never watch it,

14:49 "it just means so far I don't know where to find it."

14:51 And that's the situation, so I don't know where it will lead to.

14:57 But it feels rather, and more important things than that,

15:03 but rather like a threat or a concern than not, to be honest,
