Rhino calf Matobo is now on show at Dubbo's Taronga Western Plains Zoo

00:00 We're very excited now to announce that Motobo and Kofara, our black rhino mum and latest

00:05 calf are now out on exhibit.

00:08 After a few weeks of gently increasing their access to it and confidence, they're consistently

00:14 coming out now and exploring their surroundings and going well with everyone coming to have

00:19 a look at them.

00:20 Motobo is a very confident calf.

00:22 If Kofara was a bit more relaxed, I'm sure he will be a little menace because he's always

00:29 into everything, having a look around, running off on mum and exploring his world.

00:35 He's growing very well and at an appropriate weight that we like to see, so he's meeting

00:39 those goals.

00:40 He's starting to eat food that's being offered to mum and he's trialling all those new textures,

00:46 so starting to have a look at browse, some hay, getting goodies like sweet potato, carrot,

00:52 bananas, enjoying those and he's about 200 plus kilos, probably 250 now, so he's a big
