Chandrayan-3 has confirmed the presence of sulfur and detected other elements near the lunar south pole. It is searching for signs of frozen water on the moon's surface and studying its atmosphere and seismic activity. India successfully landed on the moon, becoming the fourth country to do so. India has been active in the space industry since the 1960s and plans its first mission to the International Space Station next year.
