Sydney woman dies at scene after being hit by truck

A pedestrian has been hit by a truck and killed in Sydney’s west. Paramedics attempted to revive the woman, but she died at the scene.

00:09 Emergency services were called to Wetherill Park around 6.30am after reports of a pedestrian

00:15 being hit by a truck.

00:17 Paramedics arrived on scene and attempted to revive the woman but she died at the scene.

00:23 Police have told us that the woman was originally in another vehicle which was involved in a

00:28 minor collision with the truck when she stepped out of that vehicle to try to get the truck

00:32 driver's attention when she was fatally struck and killed.

00:36 Inspector Josh Dixon says that it will take a while for police to piece together exactly

00:51 heavy vehicles, people need to be aware of their surroundings at all times and also drivers

01:11 Traffic has also been very heavy in Sydney's west with southbound lanes on Cowpasture Road

01:16 closed as well as eastbound lanes on Horsley Drive closed to traffic as well.

01:22 Police are appealing for dash cam footage or witnesses of either the minor collision

01:27 or the fatal incident to come forward to police.
