Ukraine has launched what appears to be the biggest wave of air strikes into Russia, since the start of the war.
Moscow says six regions have been hit by drone attacks overnight.
Targets included an airport, where military planes are based.
No casualties have been reported.
Russia has hit back with strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
