00:00 The hunter becomes the hunted.
00:02 These are 30 times that hunters live to regret their hunts.
00:06 Mountain lions are incredibly territorial animals,
00:10 so the last thing you want to do
00:11 is find yourself in their territory.
00:14 Unfortunately for this man,
00:21 not only has he stumbled across a cougar,
00:24 but the cougar is also stalking him with ominous intent.
00:28 You can hear the panic in his voice.
00:30 - Get back.
00:33 - While you can't really beat a cougar
00:42 in a one-on-one fight, you can still scare it away.
00:45 This man is trying to slowly back away
00:48 out of its territory before realizing
00:50 that he may have to resort to rougher measures.
00:54 (cougar screeching)
00:57 The man fires off a shot that narrowly misses the cougar,
01:07 something that is enough to spook the feline.
01:09 However, it doesn't completely leave the man alone.
01:23 That was a close call for both cougar and man.
01:27 These hunters have spotted something incredibly terrifying
01:30 racing towards them down the hill.
01:32 - The animal is an adult bear.
01:38 This can become very exciting.
01:40 Where will the bear appear on the red?
01:42 - Meeting a bear in a forest is never a reason
01:45 for celebration, and these hunters are terrified.
01:48 You can see the fear in one of the hunter's faces
01:51 as the bear disappears into the trees.
01:53 Not soon after, though, the bear reappears,
02:05 and alarmingly, it seems to have two cubs following it.
02:09 If you've watched our bear encounters before,
02:11 you know that's never good news.
02:14 - This situation can get nasty in a split second.
02:18 Female bears with cubs are often very aggressive.
02:21 (heart beating)
02:23 The mother bear races across the view of the hunters
02:26 with her cubs a few times, judging them from a distance,
02:30 until it decides these men might just be a threat.
02:33 These men should thank their lucky stars
02:45 the bear fell for their intimidation.
02:48 Though this next clip may seem a tad comedic,
02:51 don't be fooled.
02:53 Wild boars are extremely dangerous animals.
02:57 And that is exactly why these hunters have chosen
03:05 to climb up the trees rather than face the beast head on.
03:09 (dogs barking)
03:12 Their dogs are trying their best to protect their masters,
03:22 but their efforts don't seem to be quite enough.
03:26 The last thing you'd want to happen
03:27 is to fall into the path of a boar.
03:30 (dogs barking)
03:34 (dogs whining)
03:36 That's where the clip ends.
03:41 So we have no idea what happened next,
03:43 but I think it's pretty safe to assume
03:45 that it didn't end well for some of the dogs.
03:49 Dear, there's a good chance you think these animals
03:51 are largely harmless,
03:53 thanks to Disney's attempts at whitewashing them.
03:56 (birds chirping)
03:59 However, these suckers are not only dangerous,
04:08 but they are also notorious for having a very short temper.
04:11 This deer in particular seems to be wounded,
04:14 prompting its hunter to get closer for inspection.
04:17 - Goodbye.
04:25 - The deer seems to be deathly still
04:27 after having taken an arrow to the lung
04:30 from the man the night before.
04:31 But if there's one thing you should never do,
04:34 it's to approach an animal on its last legs.
04:37 (man grunting)
04:41 This man is lucky the deer didn't quite have the speed
04:50 or power to put its antlers through him.
04:52 Although to be fair to the hunter,
04:53 he did eventually put the animal out of its misery.
04:57 This man finds himself smack dab
05:00 in the middle of a sticky situation,
05:02 deep in the woods with a bear stalking him.
05:06 (man grunting)
05:09 You can feel and see that the man is scared.
05:18 His gun is shaking.
05:20 His finger is on the trigger,
05:22 and yet he does something incredibly surprising
05:24 when the bear charges at him.
05:26 He refuses to shoot the bear, not once, but multiple times,
05:39 choosing to keep the shotgun aimed at the animal
05:41 should it really get too close for comfort.
05:45 (man grunting)
05:47 Then the bear disappears back into the woods.
05:56 That is when the man reveals
05:58 why he chose not to shoot the bear.
06:00 Now that is one experienced hunter.
06:14 In this clip, we have an encounter
06:16 with perhaps the most underrated menace in North America,
06:19 the moose.
06:21 (man grunting)
06:24 These beasts can grow up to seven feet tall
06:32 and weigh around 700 pounds.
06:34 They are not to be taken lightly.
06:36 And the only way to survive a fight with these animals
06:39 is to pray for divine intervention.
06:42 (man grunting)
06:45 Having drawn his bow and arrow
06:53 in an attempt to take down the moose,
06:55 this man is locked in an extremely tense situation.
06:59 A missed shot, a temper tantrum, or one swing of the head
07:03 could all spell certain death for this hunter.
07:06 He lines up the shot.
07:07 (man grunting)
07:10 (people shouting)
07:13 And the moose takes off running,
07:18 the arrow lodged in its side.
07:21 You can see the way
07:22 that such a close encounter affects him.
07:24 He's lucky the moose didn't turn its attention to him.
07:37 Black bears are arguably the smartest bears
07:41 to walk planet Earth.
07:42 So if you ever come across one in the wild
07:44 like this man has, know that your luck has run out.
07:48 - Hey.
07:49 - This bear stalks the man extremely closely,
07:57 choosing to stop and size the man up
07:59 from a very close distance.
08:01 The hunter knows what's up
08:02 and immediately prepares for what is to come.
08:05 (heart beating)
08:07 - Get out of here.
08:15 - The bear closes the distance on the man very quickly,
08:17 meaning he has to make himself look big and intimidating.
08:21 - Get out of here.
08:22 Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
08:27 I'm gonna shoot you.
08:30 - It works for a few seconds
08:33 before the bear returns again
08:34 and the cause of its aggression
08:36 is also revealed in the process.
08:38 Bear cubs.
08:40 Luckily for the man, he managed to get away.
08:48 This hunter is out in the wilderness
08:50 trying to get himself some hogs.
08:52 Only by the end of the clip,
08:54 he will realize he might've bitten off
08:56 more than he can chew.
08:58 - The black pig's big.
09:02 Yeah, that black pig's a big one.
09:05 - The man and his team lie in wait
09:09 for the opportune moment to fire into the herd of hogs.
09:13 Only there is one problem.
09:15 As he fires the shot,
09:16 the man realizes there are simply too many of them.
09:21 (guns firing)
09:23 - I let him out.
09:28 - Be a champion.
09:29 - The herd makes a direct beeline for the hunter
09:32 in an attempt to stop him,
09:34 prompting him to resort to a last ditch measure,
09:37 shooting any hogs that come close.
09:39 Fortunately, the hogs are unable to take the hunter down.
09:52 This man hunts with a bow and arrow.
09:55 Only this time, the prey that he stumbled across
09:58 might be a little too big
09:59 for his weapon of choice to take down.
10:02 He has come across not one, not two, but three bears,
10:16 all of whom are in extremely close proximity.
10:20 One in particular starts getting dangerously curious
10:23 about the man and his crew.
10:25 (heart beating)
10:28 A brown bear can take a man's head off with one swipe,
10:38 and this hunter knows the amount of danger he is in.
10:41 As soon as the bear gets close enough,
10:43 he draws his bow and shoots.
10:46 (arrow thuds)
10:49 The bear immediately takes off
10:57 after taking a couple of arrows to its hide,
11:00 and you can see the toll
11:01 the close encounter took on the man.
11:13 He has his guardian angels to thank.
11:16 Remember what I said earlier
11:17 about a moose being extremely dangerous?
11:20 Well, this person certainly didn't get the memo.
11:24 - Hey, poor alien.
11:31 - This lunatic is not only not backing away from the moose,
11:37 but he is also trying to get its attention
11:40 and trying to get close to it on purpose.
11:43 The moose proceeds to send him a few warnings.
11:46 But to no avail.
11:58 The man doesn't seem to understand the danger he's in.
12:01 Even with a female moose,
12:03 there's a huge chance it can cause you
12:05 some severe permanent damage,
12:08 and this man finds that out.
12:10 (speaking in foreign language)
12:14 Quite a fitting end to the clip, don't you think?
12:21 Hogs are incredibly dangerous animals,
12:24 and this innocent man is about to find that out
12:27 in real time.
12:28 He is standing on the edge of some shrubbery
12:35 that just so happens to also make the perfect cover
12:38 for a charging hog.
12:40 Perhaps he should have seen coming what happens next.
12:43 The hog darts out into the open and slams into the man,
12:51 biting into his leg and forcing a scream out of him.
12:54 The man, however, tries to wrestle the menace to the ground.
12:58 - That hog just came to me, bit me on the leg.
13:00 (speaking in foreign language)
13:02 Look at him, he cut my leg right here.
13:07 - Thankfully, the hog isn't as dangerous on its side.
13:11 This hunter named Ben has found himself
13:14 in quite a predicament,
13:16 smack dab in the middle of moose territory.
13:19 One way to recognize when a moose wants to erase you
13:32 from the census is to notice if its ears
13:35 are pressed flat against its skull.
13:37 Fortunately for Ben, he is about to learn that
13:39 through practical experience.
13:42 Ben manages to halt the moose's charge
13:53 by taking cover behind some trees and fallen branches.
13:57 However, before long, the moose,
13:59 threatened by the man recording him, makes another attempt.
14:02 (Ben panting)
14:05 Now that was truly a close call.
14:15 This hunter has had the misfortune of being spotted
14:18 by an angry moose and it is making a straight beeline
14:21 for him.
14:22 Not only is the man in danger from the moose,
14:30 but so is the dog that is trying
14:32 and failing to intimidate the moose.
14:35 Once the moose gets too close for comfort,
14:37 this hunter has to resort to his last option.
14:40 (Ben barking)
14:46 He fires directly at the moose,
14:50 causing it to immediately be stunned
14:53 and run away from the scene, nursing what would,
14:56 unfortunately, be a fatal shot.
14:58 (Ben barking)
15:01 If it's any solace, the moose ended up being put out
15:10 of its misery by another hunter later.
15:13 These hunters have noticed a ticking time bomb
15:17 moving towards them, meaning they need to take up
15:20 defensive positions immediately.
15:27 A moose, albeit seemingly young, moves into view
15:31 and immediately these hunters tense up,
15:33 provoking an unnecessary altercation
15:35 would not end well for these men.
15:38 The two let the moose get as close as it needs
15:50 to investigate and then the moment of reckoning arrives.
15:54 The hunter must choose to release his arrow
15:56 or stay his hand.
15:58 Luckily, the moose recognizes the danger
16:09 and moves away immediately.
16:11 This hunter seems to have been spotted by a hog
16:15 he seems to have history with.
16:18 (wind whistling)
16:20 Because that is the only thing I can think of
16:29 that would make the boar cover all that distance
16:32 just to get to him.
16:33 Once the boar crosses the road, though,
16:35 it makes a beeline for the man.
16:47 The hunter has his hands tied.
16:48 He can't fire near a road, meaning he is at a disadvantage
16:52 should the boar get to him.
16:54 Luckily for the man, it doesn't.
17:06 A warning for those weak of heart.
17:08 You might find this clip extremely upsetting.
17:12 Two idiotic hunters are trying to take down an elephant.
17:17 - In between the eyes, sir.
17:19 You got him?
17:20 - I got him.
17:21 - Okay, eat him.
17:21 - Only the elephant is leading a huge herd.
17:24 If their idiocy isn't highlighted by the fact
17:27 that they considered trying to hunt an elephant,
17:29 it is truly driven home when they decide
17:32 to shoot the leader of the herd.
17:34 - You got him?
17:35 (wind whistling)
17:38 (arrow thuds)
17:46 (elephant trumpets)
17:48 - And unsurprisingly enough,
17:50 the elephants immediately start charging towards them.
17:54 I must say, the fear these hunters feel
17:57 in just those few moments really felt right.
18:00 (elephant trumpets)
18:03 Unfortunately for all of us,
18:12 the hunters managed to escape the angry herd.
18:15 These hunters are out on Kodiak Island hunting,
18:19 you guessed it, Kodiak bears.
18:22 They are laying a trap for a bear,
18:28 using a special whistle to call the predator
18:31 in order to lure it into fatal range of the rifle.
18:34 (bear screeching)
18:43 But despite the obvious firepower on their side,
18:46 a bear is still capable of dealing
18:49 incredible amounts of damage, even when wounded.
18:52 - Take him, take him.
18:55 Going down.
18:57 Take him again.
18:58 Take him again, Chris.
19:00 - The hunters managed to take down the bear.
19:04 Luckily for them, this bear went down easier
19:07 than they expected.
19:09 These hunters have been staking out their next prey,
19:12 a giant brown bear that has no doubt come to confront them.
19:17 (heart beating)
19:21 The hunter is on standby.
19:23 These bears are capable of smelling scent
19:26 from several miles away, so it only makes sense
19:29 that the bear is well aware of their presence,
19:32 but not the dart they shoot into him.
19:34 - Strong arrow, hit.
19:42 (bear roaring)
19:44 - The bear is immediately enraged,
19:46 letting out a terrifying roar
19:49 and making a direct attempt at mauling the hunters.
19:52 Unsurprisingly, they have to resort to their gun once again.
19:55 (bear roaring)
19:58 (gun firing)
20:04 And that ends up being enough to take down the bear.
20:08 This next clip really is one that opened my eyes.
20:12 For one, I had no idea elk sounded like this.
20:16 (elk call)
20:20 The elk seems threatened by something this hunter has done,
20:28 continuing to scream at him
20:30 in an attempt to get him to back off.
20:33 (elk call)
20:35 (elk call)
20:42 The hunter, for the most part, seems to understand
20:45 that he does not want to make an enemy
20:47 of something as erratic and dangerous as an elk,
20:50 and so he allows it to approach and investigate.
20:54 - Pull.
20:54 Go on.
20:58 Go on.
21:01 (elk call)
21:03 - Eventually, the elk turns away
21:05 and resumes its usual screaming activities.
21:09 This man shows us what an encounter
21:11 with an Alaskan grizzly is like
21:13 straight through the lens of a rifle-mounted camera.
21:16 The man has spotted the grizzly
21:27 before the grizzly spots him,
21:29 which makes for an awkward scene
21:31 when the bear realizes who is up ahead of it.
21:34 - Hey, bear.
21:40 Hey, bear.
21:43 - Provoking it into a fight
21:44 would certainly not end well for the man,
21:47 even with a rifle,
21:49 so he tries his hand at intimidating the grizzly.
21:52 - Get out of here, bear.
21:53 Get out of here, bear.
21:56 Get out of here.
21:58 (bear howls)
22:01 - Surprisingly enough, the bear decides
22:03 tussling with the man is not worth it and takes off.
22:07 Hunting a boar is a bad decision as it is.
22:10 Hunting a boar as an amateur with a bow is an even worse one.
22:15 - Okay.
22:16 - The young man has a shot lined up on this boar,
22:23 only he doesn't seem entirely convincing
22:26 when pulling back the string.
22:28 Little does he and the cameraman realize
22:37 that once the first arrow is shot,
22:39 all hell is about to break loose for them.
22:42 The boar charges at the cameraman,
22:53 but does no real damage,
22:55 seemingly more interested in running away
22:57 than staying around, luckily for these two.
23:01 In this clip, we have Jeff Rahn
23:03 trying to take down a bull elephant
23:05 that seems to have been separated from its herd.
23:08 - Extremely aggressive.
23:09 He was sleeping up against a tree with another bull.
23:13 We walked in about 30 yards to have a look,
23:15 and before I could really determine-
23:17 - Little does Jeff know,
23:18 this hunt is about to take a turn
23:20 for the terrifying for him.
23:23 Once the elephant notices Jeff stalking him,
23:25 it charges at him with incredible speed.
23:28 But it seems to realize that it is in imminent danger
23:41 with a gun pointed at it.
23:42 The elephant, after backing off
23:44 and keeping its distance, however,
23:46 comes back with even more anger for round two.
23:49 - Oh, gee.
23:50 - Jeff holds his fire
24:00 and eventually chooses to let the bull go,
24:03 one of the better endings in this video, I suppose.
24:06 In this clip, we have a hunter performing his game
24:09 in the snowy recesses of Russia,
24:11 namely, he is hunting wild boars.
24:15 (soft music)
24:17 But these aren't your ordinary wild boars.
24:27 They have tough hides and incredible mobility in the snow.
24:31 Hunting them means having incredible amounts of patience
24:34 and precision as our hunter demonstrates.
24:37 (heart beating)
24:42 (heart beating)
24:45 He lines up the shot and fires several times
24:50 and there is a wait that seems to last for eternity
24:54 as the hunter waits for the area to clear
24:56 so he can check out his kills.
24:59 Just another day for the Russians.
25:11 These hunters have had the misfortune
25:13 of coming face to face with one of the most dangerous animals
25:16 in all of Africa, the black death.
25:19 These walking tanks pack a mean punch
25:31 and are known to routinely kill even lions.
25:34 That makes this stalemate with a wandering Cape buffalo
25:37 even higher stakes.
25:40 (heart beating)
25:42 The buffalo for the most part
25:50 seems to be minding its own business.
25:53 There is no danger to the men
25:55 until it turns its head in their direction.
25:58 That is where the clip ends.
26:09 So we have no idea if these men survived.
26:13 This hunter is about to learn firsthand
26:15 the signs of a moose that is about to ruin his day.
26:19 The wide stance, the swinging antlers
26:31 and the aggressive lip licking are all indicators
26:34 that you've put this 700 pound homicidal tank in a bad mood.
26:39 (wind blowing)
26:41 When a moose charges you,
26:50 there is nothing you can realistically do to survive
26:54 unless the moose itself gives up.
26:56 Watch what happens to this man next.
27:08 He is a lucky, lucky man.
27:11 These soldiers were out stationed in the forest
27:14 when they got an assignment they hadn't prepared for.
27:16 A wandering black bear has lumbered into view
27:29 and it seems incredibly curious
27:31 even going over to inspect a barrel
27:33 and then the soldier's tree.
27:36 (heart beating)
27:38 These soldiers, no matter how well prepared
27:47 are not ready for what happens to them next.
27:50 The bear makes an attempt to climb up the tree
28:03 before being spooked by the quick reactions
28:05 of the soldier above.
28:07 His demeanor after the bear's escape says everything.
28:10 Now that's an unlikely enemy to make.
28:23 This clip shows a man floating downstream
28:26 when he spots some bear cubs way too close to him,
28:31 meaning the mother is close by.
28:33 - I'm reminded of the time I was on a brown bear hunt
28:38 in Alaska and we got charged.
28:40 - The experienced man is understandably anxious
28:42 and tells his partner to speed things up
28:44 to get the boat out of the cubs vicinity.
28:47 - By a huge sound.
28:48 Talk about a pucker factor.
28:50 Well, that was one.
28:51 - Facing an angry mother grizzly could be disastrous
28:56 and this man knows it.
28:58 But just when it seems that they are past the danger,
29:01 the tables turn on them.
29:03 The man instantly cocks his rifle and fires a warning shot
29:11 in an attempt to scare off the charging grizzly.
29:14 - Sometimes we'll have 20.
29:22 - I dread to think what might have happened
29:24 had the grizzly reached the raft.
29:27 If you don't believe in lady luck or God,
29:30 you sure will after this video.
29:32 This man is out hunting a moose
29:34 before the plan unexpectedly goes off the rails.
29:38 The man fires one shot at the moose,
29:50 but then the beast instead of running away
29:52 makes a beeline straight for him.
29:54 (moose call)
29:56 Unsurprisingly, the man fires another shot at the moose,
30:03 but this isn't able to slow it down.
30:05 To make matters worse,
30:06 the man has brought along his young daughter.
30:09 In an attempt to stop the moose once and for all,
30:11 he fires off a desperate shot from the hip.
30:15 (shot fires)
30:18 And the moose slumps to the ground.
30:26 That was one hell of a lucky shot.
30:29 These people are partaking of a truly audacious behavior,
30:33 taking down the king of the jungle.
30:44 Only this lion seems extremely wise
30:47 to what these people are up to.
30:49 After sizing them up from a distance,
30:51 it moves into an open field,
30:54 somewhere these men won't have a place to hide behind.
30:58 And so the stage is set.
31:09 After one of the hunters fires the first shot,
31:11 all hell breaks loose for these ignorant men.
31:14 Unfortunately, the lion isn't able
31:26 to take one of the guys down with him.
31:28 These two hunters are out hunting a buck
31:31 that they've been tracking for a few days.
31:34 (wind blowing)
31:36 Now, while it isn't one of the more dangerous animals
31:46 on the list so far,
31:48 a buck is definitely one of the most erratic.
31:51 The hunter doesn't know what he's getting into
31:53 when he makes the first shot.
31:54 (shot fires)
31:57 - Got him, got him, got him!
32:00 Whoa, I got him!

32:11 he is met with an ugly, deserved surprise.
32:15 - Hold on, hold on.
32:18 Yeah, shoot him again.
32:21 Shoot him again.
