00:00 Recently tragedy struck in Jacksonville, Florida, after a gunman targeted a black community,
00:05 killing four people.
00:06 A vigil was held shortly after, where Florida Governor and Republican primary candidate
00:11 Ron DeSantis made an appearance.
00:13 DeSantis has identified himself as being the anti-woke candidate, and famously said that
00:18 Florida is where "woke" goes to die.
00:20 "Woke" being of course the awareness of social and racial justice issues, and the importance
00:25 of identifying injustices in society.
00:28 DeSantis has also been a Second Amendment defender, with his state passing laws allowing
00:32 concealed carry without a permit earlier this year.
00:35 And that might be why during DeSantis' speech at the vigil, he was literally booed off the
00:40 microphone, with members of the crowd shouting "Do your job!" and "Jacksonville doesn't
00:44 want you!"
00:45 Videos of the event show the Florida Governor being cut off by those shouts, at which point
00:49 Jacksonville Councilwoman Jacoby Pittman took the mic and addressed the crowd, saying quote,
00:54 "Okay listen y'all, let me tell you.
00:56 We finna put parties aside cuz it ain't about parties today."
00:59 The Jacksonville gunman used two weapons that were legally obtained, according to police,
01:03 and left behind a manifesto detailing his extreme white supremacy.
