Fallon Sherrock has created more history after she became the first female darts player to nail a nine-darter live on TV - after she struck gold in the Super Series.

Darts star Fallon Sherrock has continued to smash glass ceilings - as she became the first female darts player to nail a nine-darter on TV.

Sherrock was squaring off with Adam Lipscombe in the Super Series when she stepped up to the oche trailing by one leg. The star hit two 180s before she nailed treble 20, treble 19, and then a double 12 to check out.

The Englishwoman let out a small smile as she collected her darts - while Lipscombe offered her a fist bump after leveling the clash. And fans were quick to react to the moment of history on social media.

"An absolute pleasure to commentate on the first-ever 9 darters on television from a female player," Henry Deacon, who was on comms tweeted. While a second added: "Made some hilarious noises watching that live on YouTube just now..."

"A moment you are going to see over, and over, and over again," a third added. While a fourth said, with a fire emoji: "Smashing them glass ceilings again!"

"A truly incredible moment in the history of Darts. @Fsherrock, take a bow," a fifth said. And another added: "Incredible! Another piece of history! Women's darts is booming!"

Sherrock has continued to pave the way for women in darts - and she was recently rewarded with an MBE on King Charles III's Birthday Honours List. She said: "I am honored and overwhelmed.

"To have received this level of recognition for my contribution to the game I love is beyond my wildest dreams. I never considered that I would ever receive such an esteemed honor and I am beyond grateful.

"I have been fortunate to hear of the widespread impact that my success has had in getting more people watching and playing darts, and particularly in inspiring girls and young women to take up darts and other sports. That makes me incredibly proud and excited."
