This video tells the story of part 1 & 2 of my art series called: Drowning or Dancing in the sea of life.
About the artworks:
Dancing in the sea of life Part 1 of 3
There are two people dancing together above a city silhouette. Surrounding them is a sea full of swimming fish, corals, seaweed, a few starfish.
This artwork explores my life when all is well...it's like a beautiful scuba diving adventure...everything is beautiful, and life is ahhhh! :)
Drowning in the sea of life by Yeshaya Dank Part 2 of 3
This is more of a doom theme; there are 2 people drowning hand in hand, and their feel are caught up in the seaweed, so there is no escape. There is beauty all around them, like a nice city silhouette, and beautiful marine life, however they are stuck here....drowning in the sea.
How this juxtaposes to my life is that sometimes I feel like the current bout of my illness will never end, and I will never recover...this artwork explores that harrowing experience.
About the series behind the artworks:
This series explores themes some people find uncomfortable. Viewer discretion advised. This art series is inspired by my life with Idiopathic Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. 1 minute I'm fine, having the time of my life! Then life starts falling apart again...I get shaky with flu like symptoms, then nausea & vomiting sets in. Previously I felt like a complete failure. Lately however; I allow life to happen, & just do what I can. I feel like I went from drowning to dancing in this sea I call life :)
P.S. I share this, since it smashes the illusion that my life is perfect from the outside looking in. Look; I have a problems just like everyone, since I, like everyone else, am HUMAN, & therefore am perfectly imperfect too, like each one of you :)
