Trump Warns of More Unrest

Former President Donald Trump suggested that the U.S. might experience increased political violence due to the heightened tensions. When asked by ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson about the potential of open conflict in the nation, Trump noted the unprecedented levels of passion and hatred currently present. He then compared the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, portraying the violent day as one of "love and unity." Trump has, in the past, refrained from condemning political violence, and during the interview, he dodged questions about potential assassination threats against him. He was also quizzed on the possibility of the country moving towards a civil war, to which he responded with uncertainty. Trump has been warned by judges in his ongoing criminal cases about inciting violence and intimidating witnesses.
