National Cinema Day Returns , With Movie Tickets Below $4.
National Cinema Day takes place on Aug. 27.
To celebrate, movie ticket prices
across the country will be slashed. .
Participating theaters at over 3,000 locations will discount all movies in all formats to be less than $4, 'Variety' reports. .
National Cinema Day is meant to "celebrate the power of movies to bring us all together.".
The day is hosted by the Cinema Foundation.
Last year, 8.1 million moviegoers took advantage of the inaugural celebration.
It resulted in the most people attending
movie theaters in all of 2022, the National
Association of Theater Owners said.
This year's summer box office is currently 16.6% ahead of last year, according to Comscore.
