Syed Khan Pet was a neighborhood in Chennai, India, that was renamed Saidapet in the 17th century. The name change is believed to have been made after Mohammed Syed, a general who served under the Mughals, built a mosque in the area. The mosque is still standing today and is known as the Saidapet Mosque.

சையத் கான் பேட் இந்தியாவின் சென்னையில் உள்ள ஒரு சுற்றுப்புறமாக இருந்தது, இது 17 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் சைதாப்பேட்டை என மறுபெயரிடப்பட்டது. முகலாயர்களின் கீழ் பணிபுரிந்த ஜெனரல் முகமது சையத் இப்பகுதியில் ஒரு மசூதியை கட்டிய பின்னர் இந்த பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டதாக நம்பப்படுகிறது. சைதாப்பேட்டை மசூதி என்று அழைக்கப்படும் இந்த மசூதி இன்றும் உள்ளது.
