Doctor Who: Warriors of the Deep (1984) - Movie Edition.

When the TARDIS materialises on Earth in the year 2084, the Doctor meets an old enemy – the Silurians. Once the masters of this planet, they are now travellers throughout the stars, but their intention is to reclaim their position of domination...

This will entail the infiltration of Earth's defence systems and the provocation of another World War, more terrible than any yet experienced, to bring about the complete annihilation of the human race.

Not only is the first stage of the Silurians attack successful, their associates in this dastardly plan are the sinister Sea Devils, also known to the Doctor of old.

This is a fan edit of the original televised story. There are many differences here, the key ones of which being:

-An opening scene to set the story before the titles, with some additional shots replaced with other parts from the story.

-Changed the lighting of the base. The original intention was to replicate the atmosphere from Alien with a dark spaceship. Most scenes have been darkened to reflect this.

-Scene placement. Some scenes have been moved around and to better fit the pacing and make more sense within the narrative.

-Updated Missile Launch Screens. The original screens for the missile launch were very dated, I have tried to give a slightly more modern look to them.

-Removal of padding. Lots of turturous scenes of the Silurians/Sea Devils repeating themselves and talking about nothing have been taken out.

-Sound Editing. There are several action scenes where the sounds have been moved to be more accurately timed to what is happening on screen.

-Removed Hammy Dialogue. There are several instances of hammy dialogue, such as Turlough's oddly timed 'Save Yourself' to Tegan that have been removed.

-Added the Sea Devil's scream when one is killed in the storage room.

-Added a sound and visual effect for the commander being shot at the end to make the action clearer.

There are a couple other small changes here and there, but those are the main ones. What do you think of this story?
