Spain has defeated England in the final of the FIFA Women's World Cup. After a fantastic run in Sydney, the Lionesses couldn't quite bring it home as the the nail-biting game ended in a 1-0 victory to Spain after a first-half goal from Olga Carmona. The match was an intense watch, as both sides battled it out for the trophy, but ultimately England came up short despite an excellent penalty save from Mary Earps. Crowds gathered in Manchester City Centre to watch the action unfold and cheer on the lionesses at the fan zone in Piccadilly Gardens and at the National Football Museum. Fans remained hopeful until the final moments, but even 13 minutes of extra time didn't give England the chance to save the day.
