Patriots RB Ezekiel Elliott EATS on Day 2, Multiple TDs vs Packers

GREEN BAY, WI -- After not taking any competitive reps in yesterday’s practice, Ezekiel Elliott was heavily involved with both Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe under center. This was impressive from a mental perspective, as Bill Belichick was helping Elliott catch up during the team’s flight to Green Bay, and the veteran back looked good in his opportunities. CLNS Media's Taylor Kyles reports from Green Bay after Day 2 of joint practice vs the Packers.

00:02 reporting from the second day of joint practice

00:04 with the Packers.

00:05 Now a day after Ezekiel Elliott made his Patriots debut,

00:08 but didn't participate in team drills,

00:10 Zeke had a much heavier workload in the second practice.

00:13 We saw him get carries from Mac Jones, run some routes,

00:17 and end up in the end zone on quite a few occasions.

00:20 There was also a lot of love shared between Zeke

00:22 and running back coach, Vinny Cinseri,

00:24 with the two exchanging high fives and positive words

00:27 after a really good day from Elliott.

00:29 It was also notable how vocal Elliott was on the sidelines,

00:32 cheering his teammates on and showing support

00:34 when they did well.

00:35 - I believe Zeke loves football.

00:38 I believe that with my whole heart.

00:41 You can see it from Ohio State until now.

00:44 He's gonna bring energy,

00:46 he's gonna bring excitement to the game,

00:48 and he's gonna buy in.

00:49 He's gonna buy into the craft, into the system,

00:52 into what we got going on around here.

00:55 And just that little bit of excitement for a second day,

00:59 and somebody he really don't know, Mbuti,

01:02 it just means that he loves his team.

01:05 So that right there.

01:07 And then when everybody talking and stuff get going,

01:11 you kind of lean and press into your teammates

01:13 a little bit more, and that's what he did.
