One of the most intense storms in recent times flooded Frankfurt Airport. Rivers flowing down the escalators and planes navigating through water: this is how the airport in Germany appeared due to the flooding caused by heavy rainfalls.

An operational shutdown was ordered for the safety of passengers and employees.

Germany's streets "turned into canals" as storms brought intense rains, hail, and power outages to various parts of Frankfurt.
