00:01 I'm Emily from the new Netflix series "One Piece,"

00:03 and this is "Growing Up Geek."

00:06 (dramatic music)

00:08 I grew up on "Dragon Ball Z."

00:09 I grew up on "Pokemon," "Yu-Gi-Oh!"

00:12 I saw "Spirited Away" in theaters

00:14 when it came out here in the States.

00:15 So all of the anime stuff that made me

00:19 into who I am 100% "Sailor Moon."

00:22 I made my parents rent the "Sailor Moon" movie all the time,

00:26 and they were so sick of it.

00:27 But I was just like, "Oh my gosh,

00:29 "women are so cool and so powerful

00:31 "and they can do anything."

00:33 And it also just really solidified anime in my life.

00:37 There are a lot of things that I'm obsessed with.

00:40 I have been rereading "One Piece,"

00:43 and then I have also been watching "Demon Slayer,"

00:46 'cause that's currently coming out.

00:48 Of course, so good.

00:49 And then I'm just constantly on the hunt

00:51 for more animes that I haven't already seen.

00:54 I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my "Pokemon" cards

00:58 and my Game Boy Color

00:59 with all of the original "Pokemon" games.

01:02 I have beat myself up over that so much.

01:05 'Cause I'm like, "Why?

01:06 "Why did I do that?

01:07 "That was amazing."

01:07 I wanna play them now.

01:09 I wanna have those cards now.

01:10 But live and learn, I guess.

01:13 It is so hard to choose one TV show or movie or video game

01:18 because there's amalgamation of all of those things

01:21 that changed my life.
