00:00 Over in Edinburgh, Hearts are welcoming Rosenberg to Tyne Castle and I think you have to say
00:10 a similar situation that Rosenberg find themselves in as to Rangers. They all go to Tyne Castle
00:15 probably as narrow favourites, would that be fair to say, over Hearts and then they've
00:21 got that lead but Hearts have given themselves a really good opportunity to get through to
00:27 the next round after that first leg? Yeah, important. It was an interesting one.
00:35 Hearts were poor in the first half, they were very flat. I think it's important to mention
00:40 that this isn't a Rosenberg side that we saw play Celtic in the Champions League a few
00:45 years back. This is a poorer Rosenberg team than this. I think going back to Tyne Castle,
00:55 given the fact that they did manage to get that goal through Shankland over in Norway,
01:00 has lifted the optimism among supporters going into this one. We know Tyne Castle is a really
01:07 intimidating venue, a lot of players don't like playing there. The crowd are right on
01:13 top of you. So I think they've given themselves a right good chance of progressing, bearing
01:20 in mind that they've stuck into that game last week without playing particularly well.
01:26 I still think Rosenberg, as you say, will be slight favourites going into this but Hearts,
01:36 with their home support fully behind them and a fully firing Laurence Shankland, anything's
01:42 possible. So fingers crossed they can overcome Rosenberg and see where it takes them.
01:51 Well if they do, it'll take them to face either Hadjidjic Split of Croatia or PAOK of Greece.
01:59 I'll never see that written down. The full letter is PAOK, not just PAOK. I've no idea
02:06 what that stands for. I've only ever seen it written down. That would be quite a winnable
02:11 tie for them to be honest. They'll have a chance of that and a chance of getting at
02:15 the groups. I mean they've had two really tough ties but two ties that you'd certainly
02:20 say are winnable.
02:22 Hibs, on the other hand, I think what they're looking at is if they can beat Lucerne, which
02:28 they've given them a great chance of doing, they are a glamour tie that they're probably
02:34 potentially not going to come through against Aston Villa. A very good Aston Villa side
02:40 obviously didn't have a great start to the Premier League season last weekend getting
02:44 scunnered off a Newcastle. But very good side, very accomplished manager. Probably you would
02:51 be writing Hibs off against them to be honest if they do get there. But that'll be a great
02:56 match for them at Easter Road having a side like Villa, having lots of international stars.
03:00 John McGinn coming back to Easter Road will be absolutely fantastic. That'll sell out
03:04 no bother and I think regardless of the result it'll be a great European night for them.
03:09 But they've got to get there.
03:11 Yes, yes they do. I'll be quite vocal in that I don't see Hibs' direction under Lee Johnson.
03:19 I'm not particularly a fan of him as a manager and I was pleasantly surprised by that result
03:28 in midweek there against a Lucerne team of good European pedigree. They've competed in
03:33 Europe for a long time so I wasn't confident that they'd run out with that two goal cushion
03:41 if you like to take to Switzerland. So yes, a huge incentive as well for them as you said.
03:48 It doesn't get much better than facing Premier League opposition in Europe as you said. They
03:54 like to draw on some great storylines potentially to come from that game. The pleasing thing
04:00 for Hibs as well from that game on Wednesday night, Thursday night was Dylan Venti getting
04:09 his debut goal. Obviously a big money signing from Roda, Nere Devisie. Jordan Abito certainly
04:16 showing up really well during the early weeks of the season as well, both scoring. So lots
04:22 for Hibs to be positive about. We're already seeing there potentially how if they can go
04:31 on a decent run in Europe, it has already had a knock on effect. They've lost their
04:35 first two domestic games which fans will be far from pleased with. I think the general
04:43 consensus amongst supporters remains split on Lee Johnson given the club have given him
04:52 their full backing. A couple of the signings certainly haven't exactly set the head alight
05:01 if you like. So yes, an interesting one. I still think it will be a challenge. I can't
05:07 see them winning over in Switzerland. I must admit I think Luzerne will win the game but
05:13 it's whether or not Hibs can cling on and get through to that glamour tie if you like
05:19 against Aston Villa.
05:20 Well, it remains to be seen but we'll be back next week to probably discuss the results
05:27 from those ties and the next round of, I was going to say Scottish Premiership but it's
05:31 via play cup fixtures this weekend. Should be some interesting things to talk about there.
