Hi there and welcome back to EdinburghNews.com. I'm Oda Morrison, I'm the editor here at
00:06
the Evening News and I'm going to run through just some of the main stories from the day
00:10
so far.
00:13
Residents in Edinburgh whose gardens are being flooded with sewage during heavy rainstorms
00:18
have issued a desperate plea for help as more rain is said to be on the way.
00:24
Residents living in five properties in Easter Drylaw Drive have suffered the floods for
00:28
years now, which have seen their gardens filled with dirty water, faeces and needles.
00:37
Developers behind plans for 120 new homes by the Water of Leith have pledged to help
00:41
pay for a pedestrian bridge in the area. It comes after pleas from the community in Longstone
00:47
for an active travel link to be built over the river as part of the new project.
00:55
And finally, a convicted rapist who attacked 13-year-old girl in Dalkeith Country Park
00:59
is on the run from police after failing to appear in court.
01:03
Sean Hogg, 22, was due to appear in court accused of driving offences but he didn't
01:09
turn up and a warrant for his arrest has now been issued.
