Leeds woman with aggressive breast cancer finds hope in new business partnership

Lynne Hambrey from Bardsey is having treatment for breast cancer and has started a make-up franchise with Oriflame, selling beauty and personal care products.

00:00 Well, Ouriflame has been going for 56 years.

00:04 It's a Swedish company, so they like to focus their products on nature as well.

00:11 So, we sell fragrances, makeup, skin care, wellness products, jewellery, you name it.

00:19 And, yeah, this is a little catalogue.

00:23 Can you tell me why you got involved?

00:26 Mainly because I'm in between having a break from chemo at the moment.

00:32 I'm not allowed to use essential oils, which is my passion.

00:37 And because Ouriflame use essential oils in their products, but on a slightly lower dosage, I can use their products.

00:46 So that's why I came back to Ouriflame.

00:49 And, of course, typical me, I'm not happy with just buying them, I have to sell and I want to recruit people as well.

00:57 I want to share the love of Ouriflame.

01:01 How has it helped during your recovery in your treatment?

01:05 It's wonderful because it gives you a different focus.

01:09 It takes your mind off that dreaded C word, the cancer.

01:16 There's something to focus on, there's great training there, there's support from everyone.

01:21 It's like a huge family. Everybody's really wonderful.

01:25 Did you find it easy to get involved in the company and set up your business?

01:30 Oh, absolutely. You can do it overnight. It is so easy.

01:35 And I have 20 years experience in direct selling, so anyone who joins my team, I can help them in any way that they want.

01:44 There is training online as well from the company, but like I say, I've got many, many years experience of this.

01:54 And clearly you're really enjoying this.

01:56 I absolutely love it. I absolutely love Ouriflame.

02:00 It is one of the best companies to work for and I just want other people to be able to have that enjoyment that I'm having.
