Catholics make pilgrimage from Asia to Lisbon for World Youth Day

Pilgrims from across the world throng the streets of the Portuguese capital, with more than a million Catholics from across the globe expected in Lisbon for the world's largest Catholic gathering. With more than 100 million Catholics across the continent, young people from Asia are well represented at the World Youth Day, which is in fact a six-day international Catholic jamboree.

"We are more than a hundred people from our movement and almost 2500 people from India here at the WYD," Meljin Joseph proudly tells AFP, with the IT engineers calling their participation as "a glimpse of heaven." (Video Courtesy of AFP)
