Denmark Responds to Quran Burning

The Danish government is exploring implementing a legal tool to prevent protesters outside embassies from burning the Quran in the country. Sweden also condemned the Quran burning incidents and expressed its commitment to defending free speech and strengthening resilience in the face of the controversy. The outrage over Quran desecration has posed challenges for Sweden's NATO membership bid, as Turkey had blocked its accession due to accusations of hosting terrorists. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan urged Stockholm to take concrete steps to prevent Quran burnings during a phone call with his Swedish counterpart. In response, Sweden has stated its intention to explore potential amendments to the Public Order Act to address security concerns related to demonstrations.
