Ford recently announced a recall of 870,000 F-150 pickup trucks from 2021-2023 due to a potential risk of the electric parking brake unexpectedly activating. The recall comes after 918 warranty claims and three reports of wire chafing in North America, leading to 299 incidents of unexpected brake activation. Ford has stressed there have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to this issue. To help ensure the safety of its customers, Ford is sending out letters to owners to inspect their rear wiring harness and replace it if necessary.
